About Us

A Translational and Clinical Research (TCR) flagship programme called Developmental Origins: Singapore (DevOS), is launched to specifically look into what health problems Singaporeans face, especially from pregnancy to infancy, as well as adulthood.

GUSTO is one of the main research studies under DevOS. In October 2008, a grant of S$25 million was awarded to Associate Professor Chong Yap Seng, Senior Consultant, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, National University Health System (NUHS) by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC), Ministry of Health (MOH).

GUSTO is Singapore’s largest and most comprehensive birth cohort study. We want to study if mothers' diet and lifestyle during pregnancy affect their babies' growth after birth. GUSTO is an important nation-wide medical research study that gathers data from you and your baby, starting from pregnancy until your baby is three years old. This study will give us more insight and understanding in the prevention and management of important diseases like obesity and diabetes in Singapore.

Your participation will help in improving the long-term public health of Singaporeans.
